Our readers aware that we have published a news item that Sunil will be playing the lead role in the Telugu remake of Bollywood Super hit Welcome. But now Naga Chaitanya seems to have bagged that role. We do not know the exact reason for the change but now Chaitanya will be reprising the role of Akshay Kumar from the original. Mohan Babu will play the role of Nana Patekhar from the original. Real Star Srihari will be seen in an important role. Srivasu of ‘Lakshyam’ fame will be directing the film which will be made on Mohan Babu’s Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures banner.
Welcome is a comedy film release in 2007 directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Firoz A. Nadiadwala & Ronnie Screwvala under the banner of UTV Motion Pictures. The movie intially released to mixed critical reviews and despite initial competition from Taare Zameen Par, but was a strong financial success at the box office later.
It is interesting to note that Sunil and Naga Chaitanya are acting together in the Telugu remake of Tamil Blockbuster movie, Vettai. The movie is being shot in Vishakapatnam right now.
