Mythri Movie Makers forayed into distribution in Nizam with Sankranthi releases – Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy. Both the films did well at the box office bringing them profits especially Waltair Veerayya is a huge moneyspinner.
Mythri claims that their own distribution office helped them big time and they made significant gains when compared to Dil Raju and Sunil’s distribution as they negotiated rents.
Buoyed by this success, Sasi – the partner in Mythri’s distribution office is focused on the next steps.
Buzz in the industry is that he started approaching exhibitors to give their theaters for lease. There are two kinds of theaters here.
Some of the theaters in the districts of Nizam are in bad condition. They need urgent renovation. The theater owners have been pleading with Dil Raju and Suniel to take over but they did not care about them. Mythri will concentrate on that segment.
The second segment is the theaters that are currently working with Dil Raju. At this point in time, they are a bit reluctant.
“Whenever Mythri contacts them, they are immediately dialing to Dil Raju about the approach. Some even though interested are bound by agreements. But we never know since in the end, it is all about business,” a source in the know told us.
Sirish in particular was very upset with Sasi during the negotiations for Sankranthi theaters. Their camp has repeatedly raked Sasi being non-local but trying to dictate terms in Nizam. But the same Sasi is trying to pull strings in a big way.
