Movie Moghul gets Padma Bhushan

Movie Moghul Dr. D. Ramanaidu who holds the Guinness Book of Records for producing highest number of films in several Indian languages has been conferred the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award by the Government of India for outstanding contribution in the field of Indian Cinema. The Padma Bhushan is the third highest civilian award in the Republic of India, after the Bharat Ratna and the Padma Vibhushan. Rama Naidu will fly to Delhi and receive the award from President of India, Pranab Mukherjee at Republic day parade tomorrow.

Born in Andhra Pradesh in 1936, Dr. Ramanaidu entered the film world in 1963 with his first film Anuragam, followed by the super hit film Ramudu-Bheemudu starring NTR in 1964. Over the last 47 years, he has been a prolific producer of over 130 films in several Indian languages.
