MMC Pitched for Deverakonda But He Turned Bigger for It

Meeku-Matrame-Chepta-Vijay-Deverakonda

‘Meeku Maatrame Chepta’ is Vijay Deverakonda’s maiden production venture starring Tharun Bhascker in the lead and debutante Shammeer Sultan helming the project. So, how did he reach the ‘Arjun Reddy’ star?

Shammeer says that he narrated the story thinking Vijay would do the movie. Vijay too liked was open to new ideas and also acting in Tamil. Meanwhile, ‘Geetha Govindam’ came and gave the young hero another blockbuster and hence, Shammeer’s project took to backstage.

Finally, Vijay decided to produce the movie and eventually, the lead role went to Tharun Bhascker who translated the Tamil script and dialogues written by Shammeer into Telugu. It’s Vijay’s stardom that didn’t allow him to act in his maiden production venture.

Shammeer Sultan was a short films’ filmmaker and also directed a web series. This is his debut movie not just in Telugu but in entirety. Hope, Vijay’s maiden production venture turns out to be a successful one and encourages him to give more chances to the new age filmmakers.
