Film stars after enjoying their prime can not sit back at homes away from the glare of people and media. So, most film stars do try Politics towards the end of their career. Here is the progress report of film celebrities who tried their luck in the recently concluded elections:

Success:

Nandamuri Balakrishna made a grand political entry by winning Hindupur Assembly segment with over 16000 margin. His co-star Roja who stumbled in two elections finally won from Nagari over TDP senior leader Gaali Muddu Krishnama Naidu. Actor cum Producer Murali Mohan and Producer Maganti Babu won as Rajahmundry and Eluru MPs with thumping majorities. Kodali Nani who produced films like Samba, Adhurs won Gudivada MLA seat for the third consecutive time.

Failures:

Star Actresses in 90s Vijaya Shanti, Jaya Sudha and Jaya Pradha have all faced the wrath of people for not being available to people and lost the elections. Character artist Hema made her political debut by contesting from Mandapeta but lost her deposit. Uma Ganesh Shankar, brother of Puri Jagannadh lost from Narsipatnam despite campaign by his brother.

Sensation:

Banking on the Telangana wave, former Comedian Babu Mohan emerged as giant killer defeated Former Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha with thumping majority.
