Dhanush’s latest bilingual Sir/Vaathi is doing great business at the Telugu box office. According to the reports, the film will reach break even by the end of the first weekend itself. Sir has turned out to be a great debut for Dhanush in the Telugu markets.
Dhanush’s success is even more remarkable that he achieved it with a proper bilingual and not some dubbed film. The producer and director are also from the Telugu industry, Sithara Entertainments & Venky Atluri.
Dhanush had a similar scenario in 2014 when his dubbed film Raghuvaran B Tech turned out to be a huge hit in Telugu. Many Telugu producers and directors approached him to do a straight Telugu film. But at that time, Dhanush didn’t take it seriously and missed the opportunity.
This time, however, Dhanush has hit the bull’s eye. He has connected with the Telugu audience in a big way with his performance in the film.
Dhanush is soon going to start shooting another bilingual with Sekhar Kammula. Sir’s success should definitely give a boost to that project. And if that film turns out to be a hit as well, then Dhanush would establish himself as a saleable hero in the Telugu states with a decent market.
