Come this new year, M9.news has started a special feature ‘Top 10 Most Popular Stars’ which would idenitify the film personalities who hogged limelight in the media, social media, and the industry every month. The first list out in January and has stirred a sensation in the industry as well as the web space. Here we are coming up with ‘Top Most Popular Stars in Feb 2023’.
1. Ram Charan:
Ram Charan is in the number one stop this month after hogging all the limelight for his recognition in the West with RRR. He was invited for the popular daytime talk show Good Morning America and is also an awards Presenter at the Hollywood Critics Association. He also received the spotlight award for RRR at the HCA awards along with Ram Charan.
Ram Charan’s limelight month also kicked off many fan-fights on social media.
2. Balakrishna:
Probably a rare entry in the list for non-filmy reasons. Balakrishna touched many hearts when he took personal care of Taraka Ratna while he is being treated at the Bengaluru hospital. He also became the ‘Pedda Dhikku’ of the family and finished the finalrites and decided to take the responsibility of the children as well. The gesture has floored everyone including those who hate Balakrishna for various reasons.
3. Chiranjeevi:
Chiranjeevi triggered a storm on social media with a simple tweet. He thanked Hollywood director James Cameron for praising Ram Charan from RRR. NTR fans were snubbed as they felt it was a delebrate attempt to push Ram Charan while it was the character not the artist Cameroon appreciated. Chiranjeevi leaving out Rajamouli in the tweet also became a point of discussion which he corrected later on.
4. Nani:
Nani surprised everyone with his amazing transformation in Dasara. The teaser in particular set the right hype around the film and made it an interesting wait. With the film, the only big film coming after a period of lull in the industry, the trade and audience are excited.
5. NTR:
It was another month of disappointment for NTR fans as he is yet to start his #NTR30. But NTR’s attendance at Amigos Pre-release event and the way how he looked angry at Suma on the very mention of #NTR30 updates and the speech that followed later to the fans made him a buzzing topic in the first week of this month.
The fan-fights around RRR and NTR continued this month as well.
6. Naga Vamsi:
The producer of the month with two releases. While Butta Bomma has been a big disappointment, Sir (Vathi) ended up as a big hit and also his successful Tamil debut. He also became a buzzing topic on social media with his box-office prediction closer to Rajamouli numbers on #SSMB28 in his exclusive interview with M9News.
7. Allu Aravind:
Allu Aravind became a talking point for a whole day when he announced a Pressmeet and he later retracted. The producer who is usually calm was fuming when director Parasuram defied his commitment for Vijay Deverakonda’s film and went on to announce the same film for Dil Raju.
8. Anurag – Sharath:
The young filmmakers continued their success streak once again after ‘Major’. They bagged a hit with a small film, Writer Padmabhushan. Their interesting marketing strategies worked for the movie and grabbed eyeballs.
9. Smita:
Smita had a Talk Show release on SonyLIV and had prominent guests like Chandrababu Naidu, Chiranjeevi, Rana, Nani, etc. Along with the talk show, February also witnessed the attempts to paint caste and political color to someone non-controversial celebrity like Smita.
10. Anushka:
A picture of Anushka’s recent look got leaked on social media and became a talking point.
