M9.news is introducing a new feature in 2023 as we are going to recognize the most popular film personalities of the month. We will be doing it every month starting this January.
1. Nandamuri Balakrishna:
Balakrishna is all over news this January. Firstly, it is all about the way he pulled off a film (Veera Simha Reddy) to safety despite average content and strong opposition. And then, the infamous Akkineni Thokkineni comment that took media and social media by a storm and invited huge criticism. Then, he is in the good books of people for staying as a pillar of support for Taraka Ratna in the hospital.
2. Chiranjeevi:
Chiranjeevi made a strong comeback with Waltair Veerayya. The best part about the film is not about its box office performance but how the star power of Chiranjeevi pulled off a mediocre content with the help of the festive season. But then, the promotions ended in a sad manner when he addressed Ravi Teja as a ‘small hero’ at the film’s success meet. Chiranjeevi claiming Waltair Veerayya as non-SSR hit also drew flak and made him a point of discussion. But still, he is in news all over for both the reasons.
Chiranjeevi was supposed to be the #1 in the list but Balakrishna edged forward by being in news for multiple reasons.
3. MM Keeravani
MM Keeravani created history this month by winning the famous Golden Globe award and being the first Telugu personality to have nominated for the Oscars with his Naatu Naatu.
4. Shah Rukh Khan
The Bollywood Baadshah also made a stunning comeback with Pathaan. The movie has come as a big relief for Bollywood and has awaken some of the sleeping markets for the Hindi films.
5. Naresh
Naresh was in news with his Liplock with Pavitra Lokesh towards the end of December. The heat carried to the New year as well. He was continuously in news with the allegations of his former wife and counter-allegations like divorce, torture, etc.
6. NTR
Young Tiger NTR was in the United States for the Golden Globes. He was the talking point in the social media for his Americanized accent. While some called it fake, some said he pulled it off well. The accent kept NTR buzzing this month.
7. Mythri Naveen
Producer of the month by releasing two biggies in the Sankranthi season for the first time in the history and bagging two successes. Mythri forayed into distribution in Nizam as well this month and became a success. If it is another filmmaker like Dil Raju, he would have been in News all over. But Naveen being a reserved person did not get as much as the achievement deserves.
8. Samantha
Samantha made her first public appearance post Myositis this month. She triggered many discussions with a single event. Towards the end of the month, Sam prioritizing her Bollywood commitments over a waiting Vijay Deverakonda also triggered discussions about her.
9. Vijay
Tamil Star Vijay pulled off another hit with a below-par content. In Telugu, the way he skipped the Telugu film promotions became a talking point. His movie pitted against biggies and later getting postponed also became a big discussion.
10. Naga Chaitanya
Naga Chaitanya who is usually away from the media except for his film promotions became a discussion this month without any film. His response to Balakrishna’s Thokkineni comment was widely mentioned in social media and mainstream media.
