men and women online shopping statisticsContrary to the popular belief that women splurge more money on shopping, a popular study revealed that men spend 1.3x more time than women shopping on e-commerce sites every month on an average in India.

However this trend is exactly reverse in developed countries like the UK and the US, where women spend twice the amount of time by men shopping on smartphones. But the study still says that women are more active on social networking sites for chatting but are behind men in gaming.

The study also reveals that women in India watch more media (music and videos) content than men on smartphones. They spend 40% more time on music streaming apps, and 50% more time on video streaming apps more than their male counterparts.
