There is saying that all good things must come to an end and that is what is happening right now with Akiineni Nagarjuna’s show Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu. However unlike the saying which talks about a natural ending, the ending here isn’t a natural one but a contractual one. It goes like this.

When the show was chosen to be done in Telugu by the MAA TV Network, it was contractually agreed that the South version of the show would not clash with the Hindi version Kaun Banega Crorepati that has Amitabh Bachchan as host. Now that the Hindi version is about to air, the network had no choice but to end the first season obliging the contract. It is once again expected to resume only after the airing of the Hindi version comes to an end. The last show of Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu is expected to air on August 7.

What started as another celebrity hosted show, Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu has turned out to be a gold mine for the channel both in terms of TRP’s and Ad revenues. It is among the highest rated shows in the entire South India and such has been its popularity in Telugu that producers even felt that it effected the second shows collections of movies released during its airing period. In fact many are said to be heaving a sigh of relief as the show is coming to an end. Now that’s what a true sensational stuff ought to mean.
