Acharya turned out to be a nightmare for Mega fans. The way the film was announced in 2019, and then due to COVID, the film’s release kept getting postponed multiple times was tiresome for the fans.
By the time the film reached the theaters in April 2022, all the curiosity and hype about Acharya was exhausted, and the audience just didn’t turn up at the theaters. And the way the film turned out to be eventually was the final nail in the coffin. Acharya is something Mega fans will want to erase from their memory. But it seems a kind of reboot is waiting for them.
Pawan Kalyan‘s Hari Hara Veera Mallu with Krish and AM Ratnam was also announced with much fanfare a few years back. And then the shooting happened in installments, and the release date got delayed for months and then for years. The film has been in the making for more than two years now, and still, the film is not even 50% complete.
If COVID was the reason in Acharya’s case, Mega fans are blaming Trivikram to be the man behind HHVM’s continuous delays. Out of nowhere, Trivikram proposed quickies like Bheemla Nayak and the remake of Vinodhaya Sitham, and Pawan got himself busy with those projects leaving the AM Ratnam project in a lurch.
Mega fans were most excited about Hari Hara Veera Mallu because of its original plot and grandeur, but now, after multiple delays, they claim that they have lost interest in the film as it is giving them Acharya vibes.
