meeku-mathrame-cheptha-trailer-talk-trying-hard-to-be-funnyThe theatrical trailer of Vijay Deverakonda’s first production, Meeku Mathrame Cheptha is out. Superstar Mahesh Babu launched it.

We felt it with the teaser, and now the trailer confirms the apprehensions. The effort regarding the comedy is visible; the actors are trying too hard. Usually, effortlessness is the sign that things are going alright. In the neat two minute duration, only a couple of moments have that smooth flow.

While the observation based on the trailer is right, it is also true that, more often than not, it is difficult to get the humour right in a limited time frame. The natural and flow and timing is missing. It also leads to a kind of artificialness.

The basic premise seems interesting enough to prove a chain reaction of natural moments that are funny yet serious at the same time. It is simple but a difficult film to execute for the debutant Shammeer Sultan. Tharun Bhascker looks at ease within the setup. We have to see how it does in a full-fledged role. The rest seem alright.

Check out the trailer below. A King Of The Hill production, Meeku Mathrame Cheptha will hit the screens worldwide on November 1st. Sivakumar has provided the music.
