First-maruthi-800-mammotty-hero-buyingMaruti’s first built car ‘Maruti 800’ had been a proud possession of one Harpal Singh who got the first Maruti car’s keys from former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi in 1983. But after Harpal Singh passed away, the vintage car is lying unused and rusting away.

Singh’s family isn’t interested in selling the car and rather wants it to be restored in a museum. After hearing about the car, Malayalam superstar is said to have evinced interest to buy the vintage car. The superstar is a big car lover and wants to take care of Maruti’s first baby because of its historical importance.

As said earlier, Harpal Singh’s kin wants the car to be restored in the museum. They have even turned down the offer of buying the car by many big names like Maruti company, Derek O’Brien, quizmaster and a senior leader of All India Trinamool Congress and Autocar India editor Hormazd Sorabjee. Let’s see if the superstar can successfully lay hands on it.
