Ever since Manmadhudu 2 was announced, there has been negativity around it among fans and generally as well. The reason is self-evident. It’s the title and connection to Manmadhudu which is a classic. The makers, however, never seem to bother about it, and we now know why.
The teaser sets aside Manmadhudu from our mind and comes across as a cool-breezy entertainer on its own. Of course, the star at the centre, King Akkineni Nagarjuna channels his Manmadhudu self, and that looks fine.
The content that is visible in the teaser is clear take off from Chi La Sow, the directorial debut of Rahul Ravindran who is handling Manmadhudu 2. The dialogues related to marriage and the comedy is so similar to the opening block involving Sushant and Vennela Kishore in that movie. However, the bigger star cast has a different charm and vibe, and that can be felt with Manmadhudu 2 vis a vis Chi La Sow.
Technically, also, the sophomore attempt of Rahul Ravindran looks like an upgrade with an instantly catchy song over the teaser. It is a pleasant surprise as it comes from Chaitan Bharadwaj who has given a different type of music so far. The rest of the cast is also good.
