Ever since ‘Manam’ director Vikram Kumar announced that his next film will be southern star Suriya, there have been speculations that he had planned remake ‘Manam’ in Tamil with the actor’s family. Post the announcement, rumour surfaced that the remake was planned with Suriya, his father and his brother. All of them are actors and it made perfect sense to remake the film.

But Vijay has rubbished all rumours and said that he’s working on a new story with Suriya. He felt that Manam can’t be remade and it was more apt for the Akkineni family. While talks are on for the Hindi remake of the film, Vijay is not keen on directing it. He said that he’s more busy writing his new film and always likes to work on one film at a time. Quizzed what kind of film he’s making with Suriya, he said that it’s definitely not a family entertainer but something that’s high on action.

Vijay has watched Suriya’s Anjaan, and apparently liked the film, but he felt it could have been better. He believes Suriya is an excellent actor and unfortunately directors have not used his full potential.
