Malayalam Megastar Mammootty is under fire for promoting fake collections. The star’s latest film The Great Father has reportedly set a new first-day record, and this is the source of all the controversy.
The Great Father came to cinemas on March 30th and is said to have broken the opening day record. The previous record holders are Kabali and Puli Murugan. What’s more, it is said to be fastest to reach to 20 Cr gross in Malayalam. The trade apparently doesn’t agree with these and says otherwise.
Usually, the numbers don’t generate big controversy, but here the Megastar himself promoted these fake numbers in an open letter of sorts thanking the audience. It has led to tension among top star fans in Malayalam. Let us see when the realization sets in.
