Akkineni hero Sumanth is almost a forgotten hero with a film coming to theatres once in a year or sometimes even more than one year gap. So, the number $122K might look a small number by its face value but it is a good one if taken certain things into consideration.
The first one is of course, Sumanth is a forgotten hero. The second one is the limited number of theatres the movie has got in the US and the third one is the fate of the movies of more popular heroes at the box-office, recently. While Sai Dharam Tej’s ‘Jawaan’ collected $180 K, Nara Rohit’s ‘Balakrishnudu’ collected $23 K and Gopi Chand’s ‘Oxygen’ collected ’18’ K.
Comparatively, $122 K is a good number for Sumanth’s film. It’s really a good feat and it’s surprising to see this kind of response to Sumanth’s film when movies with bigger names had been total washouts leaving the buyers in a loss. By the way we are talking about Sumanth’s latest release ‘Malli Raava‘.
