Brahmotsavam’s failure has changed the business statistics big time. The various rights of the film were sold for some unheard prices but seeing the latest situation looks like everyone will go into huge losses.
But the stroke is likely to hit the overseas distributors more as the film will manage only the one million mark now. Mahesh has a huge market overseas and all his previous films have done good irrespective of the talk of his films. So taking this in considerations, the overseas rights were sold for a huge price.
Even now, talks were on that the makers of A R Muragadoss were planning to quote some heavy duty price for overseas rights but they have now struck in between. With Brahmotsavam taking a severe beating they cannot demand these huge prices.
With the general response for the recent films which released in the US, the makers will be forced to slow down and quote normal prices as the overseas distributors are in no mood to shell out any money.
