One of the dreams of Mahesh Babu from the beginning of his career has been to star in a film directed by Mani Ratnam. On more than one occasion the actor has expressed his liking of the director in a very vocal way and yet the actor has not been able to do a film with the director for one reason or the other. He came close to doing a film in the past once but the film itself was shelved.
This time it looked like everything was set for the combination to take off but looks like there are going to be severe date hassles involved if the actor decided to do the film. The Mani Ratnam film according to the grapevines is believed to start shoot from June or July later in the year and the director plans to shoot in big lengthy schedules to finish it without taking too much time. The problem is Mahesh Babu is committed to do the Koratala Siva project during the same time and hence a clash in dates. Thanks to these dates the actor is reportedly contemplating on letting go this project. An official confirmation is awaited from the unit of the film though.
