Mahesh Babu’s Athidi released in 2007 and was a dud at the box office. After Athidi, Mahesh devoted more time to family matters with a new toddler to spend time with, supporting and helping Namrata cope with her father’s illness and then his death, followed by Namrata’s mother’s bout with cancer and her death.
Then he also had to sustain his Grand mother’s death who he used to love a lot. In 2010, after a 3 year long hiatus Mahesh returned to the silver screen with the movie Khaaleja.
2011 was a remarkable year for Mahesh, his Dookudu went on to become the second biggest grosser of Tollywood. Then followed Business Man in early 2012 which also registered a commercial blockbuster. Mahesh had grown by leaps and bounds bagging many corporate identities. He is also the face of Thumsup for the entire nation today.
He is currently having two projects on sets – Seethamma Vaakita Sirimalle Chettu and Sukumar movie. Many top directors are queuing for call sheets of Mahesh. Directors Linguswamy and Meher Ramesh are waiting for 3 years to get a script okayed by Mahesh. Directors like Puri Jagannadh, Boyapati Srinu, Trivikram Srinivas and others have got their scripts okayed and are waiting for his call sheets.Lets see if he can keep this tempo!
