Superstar Mahesh Babu’s new film is all set to hit the screens in two days on May 9th. The pre-release business of the movie is done, and it is similar to the last outing of the star Bharat Ane Nenu. It means, Maharshi also requires a 100 Cr share total to be declared a hit.
Whether Maharshi will hit 100 Cr or not is to be seen after the movie releases and the talk it gets. Right now, we take a look at the opening day prospects of the only big film this summer.
The current record holder (non-Baahubali) for the opening day in Telugu states and worldwide is Pawan Kalyan starrer Agnyaathavasi. In the Telugu states Aravindha Sametha occupies the second spot whereas worldwide it is Khaidi No 150.
For Superstar Mahesh Babu, Bharat Ane Nenu is the highest opener in Telugu states as well as worldwide. So, the target before Maharshi is simple, emerge as the highest opener for the star everywhere.
As of now based on the hires and booking status, Nizam is leading and expected to be a record. East and West are also likely to throw positive surprises. The other areas will be on par with Bharat Ane Nenu or better. Finally, how well Maharshi opens in Ceded will decide the margin of opening day record for Mahesh Babu, all the while depending on the talk.
For the worldwide number, the US is likely to throw surprise which isn’t on the positive side. It has got more to do with the show timings than anything else. Overall, for a mid-week release, Maharshi will post spectacular numbers for Mahesh Babu.
