Everything is set for the grand release of Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Maharshi. In a few hours from now, the premieres will start in the US. An early morning start in India will follow them with a few hours gap.
Coming to the advance bookings, they are terrific in the Telugu states. It is expected from a top star like Mahesh Babu, and he doesn’t disappoint. The speed was a bit slow in that while the bookings are eventually going to be sold out, it has happened later than expected. Still, it is not a knock on the biggie as it is getting a mid-week release.
While the release period is not that big of an issue in the Telugu states, it seems the same might not be the case with the US. There is an issue with getting the right amount of prime-time shows due to the release time. It also doesn’t help that the Hollywood biggie Avengers: Endgame is still given the first preference in the local chains.
On the brighter side, Maharshi is getting started very early (3 PM EST), it means if the movie gets positive word of mouth (keep an eye on our genuine review), the occupancy could increase dramatically by the time the evening shows commence. Needless to say, the talk would also have an impact on the Telugu states openings.
Maharshi is the 25th film of Superstar Mahesh Babu. It stars Pooja Hegde in the female lead opposite him. Allari Naresh plays a crucial role in the movie directed by Vamshi Paidipally. Below are the hourly gross updates for Maharshi.
