Makers Planning Shooting Without Superstar Rajinikanth?

Superstar Rajinikanth has moved Madras High Court against property tax demand of Rs 6.5 Lakhs, by Greater Chennai Corporation, for his Sri Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam in Chennai. In his petition, the Superstar states that he hasn’t let out the marriage hall since March 24th, so no revenue generated after it.

However, the Madras High Court became serious about this petition. Hearing the petition, Justice Anita Sumanth warned of imposing costs on Rajinikanth for rushing to the court. The counsel for Rajinikanth had sought time to withdraw the case.

Rajinikanth‘s counsel claims that according to rules, any building is vacant for 30 days is entitled to the remission of tax. The Chennai Municipal Corporation had to taken a decision on this regarding all the properties including Rajinikanth. However, some Tax Experts say “You got to pay the property tax which is owned by you whether you generate revenue out of it or not. The Government may subsidize the Tax but it can not be just for Rajinikanth”.

Rajinikanth is currently starring in a film directed by Siruthai fame Siva. The movie shooting will resume soon in Hyderabad.
