international-convention-center-in-Andhra-PradeshIt is known that Andhra Pradesh government had drawn plans to develop three convention centers in major cities of Andhra Pradesh – Vishakapatnam, Vijayawada and Tirupati on the lines of the Hyderabad International Convention Centre in Hyderabad. Infrastructure Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (Incap), the nodal agency of the AP government, had invited Expression of Interest (EOI) for executing the projects on BOT (build, operate and transfer) basis.

30 EoIs from 17 developers from India, Singapore and Malaysia have come in for the three mega convention centers. INCAP is planning Request for Proposal (RFP) notification in May and will finish the selection of the three developers before July. The government is planning to finish the convention center in Visakhapatnam first and then go for the other two next year.

The convention centres at Vizag and Tirupati are being planned with a seating capacity of 8,000-10,000 people and will also have a star hotel, exhibition halls, shopping complex cum multiplex, food courts and entertainment centres. Where as Vijayawada will have a mini-convention hall.
