The teaser of the upcoming film of Tamil actor Silambarasam aka Simbu is out. Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja unveiled it in Telugu. It is his second film on the comeback trot after slimming down considerably.
First of all, the teaser is slick and racy. It hooks with the visuals, although it does take too much inspiration from the Hollywood movie Tenet. Still, to be able to pull it off requires some skills, which is evident.
The comparison works to the movie’s advantage; it is a big deal. The Hollywood movie too, has been a recent memory for the audience.
But, more than the making, the teaser is confusing. The most important thing is the title. While the Tamil one is clear, one is not sure about the Telugu name. Is it Maanaadu or Rewind? It is the first thing on anyone’s mind.
With the movie slated to release soon anyone, one will get clarity eventually. It could work well promotionally, meanwhile, for the makers.
Venkat Prabhu who rose to fame with Mankatha (Gambler in Telugu) hasn’t tasted big success in a while. He will be hoping to get the box office mojo back and also give Simbu a big hit.
