Exactly two months and three days ago,a mania called Kabali had engulfed the world of Indian movie lovers. Everywhere one went, Kabali was the talking point.
The film arrived with a bang, opened to a ridiculously high numbers and then the word of mouth took over. The film dropped big time post the weekend. Massive openings did help the film in few territories unlike Lingaa but finally when all the dust has been settled it is a loss venture in two Telugu states and Tamil Nadu.
However, the makers learning from the Lingaa disaster made sure that no unnecessary agitations were heard during the run. But now that the film is out of public minds the distributors who have lost money are said to be approaching producer for refunds. All of this is being done silently but sources in the trade say things could escalate very easily if makers aren’t cautious enough with the exhibitors.
