Puri Jagannadh and Charmme are troubled by Liger in more ways than one. First, the film was a complete failure at the box office. And then there was the ugly brawl with distributors who demanded compensation for the losses.
And now, the worse of all, Puri and Charmme are facing Enforcement Directorate investigation over the Liger finances and business.
ED summoned Puri Jagannadh and Charmee for questioning on doubts over FEMA (Foreign Exchange Management Act) violations in Liger production. The officials suspect illegal investments in Liger project. Puri and Charmme have been at the ED office since earlier today.
They are said to be investigating if any Telangana politicians are actually involved with the finance aspect of Liger.
Not so long ago, Telangana Congress leader Bakka Judson filed a complaint on Puri and Charmme over Liger. “Liger was made to convert black money to white money. TRS’s Kavitha is involved with it. Before Liger started the shoot, she called many bigwigs and asked them to invest in the project. This a clear attempt to convert black money to white” he mentioned in the complaint.
