Vijay Deverakonda’s Liger is up for release on the 25th of this month. Now, the film is getting a ‘controversy’ push in Bollywood as it heads for release.
Earlier today, a new song from Liger, “Aafat” was unveiled by the team. What’s catching the attention now is the caption Vijay came up while sharing this song on his social media handles.
“There’s always a beautiful drama queen who will come between a mother and son.” This caption by Vijay has sparked a controversy.
Hindi batch on Twitter is finding Vijay’s post offensive. “How are these pseudo feminist comments still being allowed? He is clearly humiliating his love interest.” A netizen commented.
“Well, he did a film like Arjun Reddy and validated soft violence on women, what better can we expect from him?” Another person commented.
“ This guy is actually so problematic he keeps defending his arjun reddy and yet bollywood keeps pushing him on everyone” another tweet read.
On the other hand, a few people are saying it is not good to read too much into a simple caption that is a part of the film’s promotional campaign.
This is a mini controversy of sorts now and the good thing for Liger is that it is staying in the news for one reason or the other.
