Krish's Bollywood career kicks offKrish has started his New Year on a bang. He was idle for quite a long time after the release of Krishnam Vande Jagatgurum, which unfortunately didn’t do well as expected at the box-office. He has finally started working on his Bollywood debut from this morning. Krish is directing a Hindi film titled Gabbar, which is the remake of Tamil film Ramanna.

The film features Shruti Haasan and Akshay Kumar in the lead. On Wednesday, Shruti posted on her Twitter page that it’s the first day on the sets of Gabbar. The crew has started shooting and the project is expected to be completed in about two months. The film will be an acid test for Krish in the new waters he has ventured into.

Gabbar also features Kareena Kapoor in a small role. Ramanna was a super hit in Tamil, and was directed by A.R Murugadoss, who also wanted to helm the Telugu version with Chiranjeevi, but things didn’t fall in place. The film was later remade in Telugu as Tagore by V.V Vinayak.
