After Andhra Pradesh had started imposing entry tax on the vehicles from Telangana, the checkposts in the borders of the two states are busy collecting the Entry Tax from vehicles coming to the state. As per the records, Krishna district stood in the first position with collection of Rs 2.66 crore since April 25 followed by Kurnool district with Rs 51.75 lakh.
Both the check posts of Krishna district, Garikapadu and Tiruvur on the borders of Telangana state are swarmed by the vehicles paying the tax. Krishna district is the hub for Transport and bus operators currently and so there is more number of vehicles inflow from Telangana to Andhra Pradesh there.
The contract carriage buses need to pay from Rs 1.50 lakh to Rs 1.80 lakh depending on the number of seats and type of the bus for a three-month valid permit. Temporary licences ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 3000 are being issued to mini buses, tourist buses, light goods vehicles, maxi cabs and motor cabs for a period of seven days.
