Panja Vaishnav Tej‘s Konda Polam is gearing up to release on October 8th as Dussehra Special. The US Premieres are supposed to be on October 7th. But then, the makers have decided to skip the Premieres altogether. The movie will release on Friday along with the India release.
The movie will be released in 100+ locations with a ticket price of $12. Incidentally, Vaishnav’s first film, Uppena also back stepped on the US Premieres. The premieres were very late which is like on the day of the release of the movie. But then, the movie has got good talk and reviews.
Having the premieres like always would have got more revenue, many felt during Uppena. There was a feeling that Uppena would have got a better talk from the Overseas audience. The movie, back then, has collected around $200K in the first weekend. If the same happens with Konda Polam, it will be a mistake and the strategy would only mean losing revenue.
Or maybe the makers are religiously following Uppena sentiment for Konda Polam. Directed by Krish, Konda Polam has Rakul Preet Singh playing the female lead with MM Keeravani composing the music.
