Panja Vaishnav Tej‘s Konda Polam is gearing up for October 8th release. It is the first film release of Tollywood in Dussehra season. Konda Polam is a film shot during the first Lockdown and was completed in around 40 working days.
The movie involves extensive post-production work due to huge VFX work. Back then, there were reports that the movie may opt for an OTT release but Krish says he never had that idea. “It is a large canvas film with forests, tigers etc. The budget is also high due to VFX. It is cut for theater experience”, he says.
“We were always targeting Dussehra even last year because of the VFX,” the director said in an interview with Mirchi9.com. Meanwhile, it is reliably learned that the team is in advance talks with Amazon Prime Video for the post-theatrical OTT rights. The deal may be sealed by the time of the movie release.
Usually, films stream on Amazon Prime Video four weeks after the theatrical release. That means the movie may land on Amazon Prime Video around November 5th as Diwali Special. The makers may also target larger theatrical window if they feel it is worth but we are yet to know the finer details.
