Kona Venkat Announces Karnam Malleswari Pan-India Sports BiopicOn the Birthday of Karnam Malleshwari today, Kona Film Corporation has announced a Biopic on the first Indian woman to win a medal at the Olympics. Produced by MVV Satyanarayana and Presented by Kona Venkat, the movie will be made as a multilingual Pan-India film.

Sanjana Reddy who made her debut with Raj Tharun‘s Kittu Unnadu Jagratha is wielding the megaphone for this movie. She has disappointed with her debut film and needs to make amends for it now. Karnam Malleswari bagged a Bronze Medal in 2000 Sydney Olympics in 69 Kg Weight-lifting category.

She had won World Championship in 1994 and 1995. In 1995, she received the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, India’s highest sporting honor, and in 1999, the civilian Padma Shri award. It will be interesting to see who will star in this Sports Biopic. The makers are yet to reveal when this film will go on floors.

The movie is yet to get a title but comes with a caption “Journey of A Girl Who Lifted the Nation’.
