The trailer of KGF: Chapter 2 is out, and whatever may be the response, it is clear that action will be mind-blowing. It is in this aspect that Vijay starrer Beast faces increasing pressure from KGF: 2.
Usually, the action wouldn’t have mattered, but as KGF: 2 and Beast are planned as grand action fares for the pan-India audience, there will be scrutiny. As it is, the clash isn’t helping Beast’s cause in languages other than Tamil. The theatrical trailer further increases it.
Vijay is reportedly playing a RAW agent in Beast. The movie is full of action sequences that incidentally are handled by KGF fight masters – Anbariv. They are supposed to be the film’s highlight and attract audiences in other languages. The unexpected and unplanned clash has definitely weakened its chances.
The theatrical trailer of Beast will now be under a lot of scanner. It wouldn’t matter much to the Tamil audience, but it will indeed have an impact in other languages’ markets.
Nelson Dilipkumar of Doctor fame directs Beast. Pooja Hegde is the heroine opposite Vijay. The Sun Pictures production will hit the cinemas all over on April 13th, a day ahead of KGF: Chapter Two, which arrives on April 14th.
