A film, like ‘Mahanati’ and the spectacular performance like Keerthy Suresh’s as the legendary Savithri has left a specific mark, especially in Telugu. However, we have already mentioned how her follow up movies have been disappointing. None of the movies had a memorable role for Keerthy Suresh and she was literally a side-kick in those movies.
Interestingly all those movies happen to be Tamil movies and the actress hasn’t signed even one Telugu movie after ‘Mahanati’. The latest project in her kitty is going to be directed by AR Murugadoss with Rajinikanth in the lead. It’s a known thing that, heroines in the director’s movies are limited to sidekicks without anything substantial for them to showcase their acting talents.
There has been a talk in the industry that Keerthy Suresh is staying away from Telugu films because the scripts she has got after ‘Mahanati’ were all very commercial. But, if we look at the line up of her films in Tamil, all are heavily commercial and she had no importance as the female lead. Even AR Murugadoss’ movie will be on the expected lines as far as the heroine character is concerned. Nothing is going great for her after ‘Mahanati’. Will it change soon?
