kcr dream project holdedTelangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP) to Hyderabad under which GHMC was to construct flyovers, sky-walks and grade separators at 18 locations on various road stretches in the city to ease the traffic concession in the city.

However the state government had decided to put on hold this plan for a while, as it wants to first complete property acquisition process before finalizing the bids for the ambitious plan. This is a lesson learnt from the ongoing abnormal delays in acquiring properties for the Hyderabad Metro Rail project.

GHMC requires to acquire 29 acres of land at various locations for this project. Apart from government land, about 300 private properties will have to be acquired which is a very time taking process and so the government wants to take up the project only after completing 60% of the land acquisition. One more reason for putting SRDP on hold is the lukewarm response to the bids for execution of the project.
