Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu and his Telangana counterpart K Chandra Sekhar Rao do not see eye to eye. Even though KCR worked under Chandra Babu previously, the animosities between them are so big that they do not make courtesy calls despite being neighbouring state CMs. However KCR has taken cue for Chandra Babu in one aspect. Like Chandra Babu, KCR is also putting pollution reduction plans for the city on top priority. In fact no Chief minister after Chandra Babu has taken this aspect seriously except KCR.

Telangana government is planning a programme to improve greenary in the city – ‘Harita Haram’. As part of the programme a ‘Green Week’ will be observed every month with people’s participation. Ministers, MLAs, MPs and government officers will take part in this programme along common people. It is estimated that the entire state requires 210 crore saplings to bring 33 per cent of the area under green cover. The chief minister also directed the GHMC officials to make it mandatory to plant a tree before according building construction permissions.
