There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that Kaththi starring Vijay made in the direction of AR Murugadoss is one of the most awaited films of the year in Tamil cinema. The combination of the star with the director after a blockbuster movie like Thuppakki along with the presence of Samantha has made this hot project even hotter. So when the first look of the film was released few days ago naturally the buzz hit the roof top.
As this is such a highly awaited project every little detail regarding the film is keenly followed and dissected by both the fans and critics. The first look that was released recently gave enough in this regard to both the parties who are having a field day now. While the fans have lapped up the first look with its stunning background score, the critics are quick to point out the very obvious plagiarism in the idea of the first look.
One could in a way connect this to the plagiarism charges the unit of Baahubali faced when the first first-look teaser of the film was released on the occasion of birthday of Prabhas. Here too the makers usage of a template for the teaser got heavily criticized with many accusing the makers of copying, only to later realize that it was an open template design that could be bought and used by anyone.
Clearly the two films have no similarity but the kind of scrutiny these films are undergoing with each new revelation just highlights the crazy anticipation these films have among the fans. We do hope that these films satisfy those gargantuan expectations, the fans and the movie lovers have on them.
