Viswarupam

Kamal Haasan’s multilingual film Vishwaroopam has recently been a controversy regarding the issue of portraying the Islamic community in a bad light following which the Madras High Court restricted the film’s release till January 28. Superstar Rajinikanth had then taken a stand against the restriction and urged the Muslim groups to give the director some leeway.

Latest in line is DMK chief M Karunanidhi who urged the objecting Muslim groups to resolve their differences with Haasan over his mega-budget thriller Vishwaroopam and it seems that he is not the only person on Haasan’s side. PMK founder S Ramadoss has also criticised the ban on the movie saying that “The Tamil Nadu government has been indulging in acts against the freedom of expression. If there is a law and order situation, it is the responsibility of the government to handle it. It is not appropriate to ban a movie.”
