Rishab Shetty’s Kantara which has made it to Oscar’s list is going to get a prequel. It is known that the film was a pan-India hit and won accolades for its divine element intertwined in the plot. The fans of Rishab Shetty who wrote and directed the film were ecstatic and were waiting for the sequel.
However, their enthusiasm has now peaked as the team has announced a prequel to Kantara. The film’s producer Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films has confirmed the same and added that the prequel will not progress the plot. Instead, it will explore the origins of mythology.
The news is that Rishab Shetty and his co-writers are scouting for locales in the forests of coastal Karnataka. They will be on the job conducting research for two months. Meanwhile, the team has also announced that they intend to have a pan-India release for the film in April and May next year.
The shooting will begin in June as a major chunk of the film requires to be shot in the rainy season.
