Jersey, the official Hindi remake of Nani’s Jersey released to mixed reviews and disappointing word of mouth. The occupancy on the first day was dull and as per the early estimate, the film will do only 4 crores net on day one which is quite low.
With KGF 2 going strong, Jersey will find out quite tough to sustain at the box office in the days to come. Gautam Tinnanuri has directed this film and a few in the media have praised his work. But the rest have panned his slow narration.
This will indirectly affect Ram Charan as his next film is with Gautam. With Jersey’s failure, the hype will get mellowed down for Charan’s pan India film. Post RRR, Ram Charan will release all his films pan-India wide, and for his films to get a good buzz, the director and his reputation are also important.
But as Gautam will be low with Jersey, Charan’s film will not create that much hype unless Gautam makes a solid film. In a way, Shahid Kapoor has walked away with all the credit for Jersey but Gautam has fallen behind and this will haunt Ram Charan and his film in a big way.
