Jersey Going Agnyaathavaasi WayNo, we are not talking about the box office fate of the movie Jersey starring Nani in the lead with respect to Agnyathaavasi, instead, it is about the music of the film composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

Make no mistake, the music given to Jersey is first class. Anirudh being the dependable music director he is has delivered. But, the problem is it is too classy to get mass popularity. It is a metro album and appeals to a limited set of music lovers. It was the same case with the Pawan Kalyan starrer Agnyaathavaasi which had fabulous songs, but the appeal and success were nowhere near what the star’s films usually get.

One can’t help but remember the words of director Trivikram Srinivas here who said there is missing sync somewhere. While we partially agree to that, we feel that even if Jersey was a Tamil soundtrack the reception would have been same or marginally better, but not a blockbuster for sure. Even in Tamil, it is the peppy foot-tapping melody tracks or the mass beats that is creating the magic. In the two albums in Telugu, Anirudh hasn’t given those appealing mass numbers. Therein lays the problem.
