Whenever director Teja makes a film based on love concept, it’s naturally compared to hit movie ‘Jayam’ which he considers to be a cut movie which earned him huge profits. However the super hit film always makes audiences feel that Teja’ s films have overtones of ‘Jayam’ in the later movies.
Coming to Mahesh Babu’s ‘Nijam’, Teja feels that he shouldn’t have taken up such a subject with a star hero as audiences wouldn’t like a star hero do such ruthless killing only because his mother said so. Despite the flop talk, Teja says he made huge profit from ‘Nijam’ even after repaying money to whoever lost due to the flop talk.
And coming to the big point, Teja says ‘Jayam’ is watched by more number of audiences compared to Baahubali which he accepts that common audiences flocked to watch the epic drama after a long time. How can he say ‘Jayam’ is more watched than ‘Baahubali?
He says he recently collected data on the audiences who watched ‘Jayam’, ‘Magadheera’ and ‘Baahubali’. More number of people used to go theatres to watch films during ‘Jayam’ days. Even the ticket prices have gone up from Rs20 to Rs 150. Those days his ‘Jayam’ made a profit of Rs.32 crore for Rs.1.80 crore.
