Janhvi Kapoor was launched grandly with Dhadak in Bollywood with the remake of the Marathi blockbuster, Sairat. The film turned out to be a decent hit.
Her subsequent films didn’t make much of a mark, though she kept improving with each of her films. She has mostly relegated herself to women-oriented small-budget movies. Her next biggie in Bollywood is going to be Bawaal, directed by Dangal director Nitesh Tiwari.
Recently it was announced that Janhvi had been signed opposite NTR in the Koratala Siva film. It is the biggest project of her career, and reportedly she has offered crores to accept the role.
Koratala Siva’s films always had a good role for the heroines in most of his films. Be it Anushka in Mirchi or Shruti Haasan in Srimanthudu. Even Kiara Advani had a small but important role in Bharat Ane Nenu. Koratala always makes sure that the heroine’s role isn’t just relegated to songs but also contributes to the storytelling.
Janhvi is mostly famous for her hot and glamorous photoshoots more than her acting chops. She is improving her performance with each film, but still, the audience’s perception is that she is a glam doll. We have to wait and see if Koratala Siva concentrates only on the glam factor of Janhvi or if he will offer her a role that will take the story forward in NTR30 and make a substantial impact.
