With the release of Young Tiger NTR’s Jai Lava Kusa just two days away, clarity is emerging on the opening day of the film. Is it going to be the new Non-Baahubali record or will it fall short?
As of now, based on the booking and hires and hikes in ticket prices, it can be said that Jai Lava Kusa has all the chances of creating a new Non-Baahubali record. Few territories already look confirmed like Krishna and Guntur. It is how high the rest of areas go, that will decide the final figure.
With such massive releases, the talk also plays an important role, especially in areas like Ceded and Nellore. The shows are played round the clock, and if the talk is good, it helps in overall number. East and West are likely to have an impact due to recent tax changes. Still, with record release, anything is possible provided the talk is positive.
The current top three opening of Telugu cinema without including Bahaubali are Khaidi No 150, Katamarayudu and Sardaar Gabbar Singh. If one includes the Baahubali movies, then the top 5 openings are Baahubali 2, Khaidi No 150, Baahubali, Katamarayudu and Sardaar Gabbar Singh.
In either case (including Baahubali movies or excluding) Jai Lava Kusa is most likely to be in top 2 openings of all time and irrespective of talk. The openings are entirely due to Jr NTR, and the hype generated on the movie is due to him as the combination is weak here unlike Janatha Garage.
