YS Jagan Mohan Reddy left out the Kamma community totally in his recent cabinet expansion.
This is the first time in Andhra Pradesh history that the community did not have a representation in the state cabinet.
Despite being very loyal and vocal, Kodali Nani from the same community was sent the door out of the cabinet.
Ahead of the elections, Jagan is planning to give some namesake posts to the community.
There is a chance to have ten government whips. There are eight whips already with two vacancies. The number can be increased further to create 3-4 vacancies.
Jagan is thinking along the lines of giving one to the Kamma community.
Denduluru MLA Kotaru Abbaya Chowdary or Tenali MLA Annabattuni Sivakumar may get the chance.
But then, whip posts are just namesake. Their duty is to serve whips in case of manual voting in the house.
With YSR Congress having an absolute majority in the house, even a single whip is not needed. There may be ten of them now.
MLAs who expected cabinet berths but missed out at the last minute are also expecting.
Names like Grandhi Srinivas, Karanam Dharmasri, Golla Babu Rao, Tellam Balaraju are being heard.
