Veera-Simha-Reddy-Vijay-VaarasuduThe coming Sankrathi season is going to be a mighty interesting one. While Dil Raju’s Varasudu looks set to lock the prime Sankranthi slot of 12 January, Telugu biggies Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya are yet to lock the final release plans.

The latest reports are suggesting that there could well be a direct clash between Dil Raju and Nandamuri Balakrishna.

Varasudu’s overseas distributor had already indicated that the film will release on the 12th of January. As per the latest updates, Veera Simha Reddy might also be releasing on the 12th of January.

If the Veera Simha Reddy vs Varasudu clash is inevitable, then the situation is going to be really interesting.

Dil Raju’s grip over theaters in the Telugu states will be on Varasudu’s side, while Nandamuri Balakrishna’s mass pull with a mass film Veera Simha Reddy will be on the other side. Needless to say, the Balakrishna starrer will be the overwhelming favorite for the Telugu audience, but the dubbed Varasudu will also release in a huge number of theaters.

It is heard that Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya could be releasing on the 13th of January. This is where theater allocation will turn problematic as Veera and Varasudu will look to hold on to the theaters. The clash between the two stalwarts of Tollywood and a powerful producer is going to take the center stage next Sankranthi festival season.

However, neither of these dates are officially announced for now. As for Varasudu, the release plan is subject to change based on the release plan of another Tamil star Ajith’s Thunivu. So there’s still some uncertainty in this regard.
