A Gang Is Working Against Me Says, Legendary Composer AR RahmanPopular music director A Rahman has allegedly been in a soup as the Income Tax Department has moved the Madras High Court for evading tax on Rs. 3.47 crores that he received from a mobile company from abroad.

Allegedly, AR Rahman directed the mobile company to pay the money to his charitable trust for composing ringtones for it. Back then, Rehman’s charitable trust didn’t have the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act license under which the money paid to it wouldn’t be taxable, says the senior standing counsel for the IT department.

The money can be transferred to the trust only after the deduction of the tax. This isn’t a fresh case on Rehman as the allegations were made on the music maestro in 2015 by the IT department for which the ace music composer appealed the tribunal, last year.

Now, the IT department went to the High Court against AR Rehman. Hence, the Court issued notice to the music composer to explain the charges. Let’s wait for Rehman’s movie in this income tax case.
