It was the senior hero Venkatesh who bomb started the year with the blockbuster hit of F2 and it’s collections still are the highest of the films that Tollywood delivered this year. F2 collected about $2.1 million while nobody else couldn’t touch that mark including Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Sye Raa.
Sye Raa is the only film which could come somewhere near F2 but still couldn’t touch it. Now that the release date of Venky’s next outing, Venky Mama is out, looks like the actor is going to wrap the year with blockbuster again. There are high expectations on the film post the teasers and promotional releases, and the entertainment factor has definitely got that hype built for the film to bring the audience to the theaters for the holiday season celebration.
If hey manage to get the ladies connect as they did for F2, it could pull decent numbers for sure. But again, can Venky withstand the Amazon Prime effect now? is the bigger question for the market has changed and many other films released recently suffered this big time. Let’s see.
