Dasari completed 50 years in the industry and is celebrating his 71st birthday. In an exclusive encounter on a popular Telugu channel, Dasari touched many issues regarding the well being of the industry. He quesioned on why the producers are increasing the budgets beyond redemption? Isn’t this cost failure?
Taking the example of ‘Julayi’ and comparing it to ‘SOS’, Dasari reasons that the same combination of Allu Arjun, Trivikram and producers Radha Krishna and DVV Danayya had flared up the budget 300% compared to ‘Julayi’. While ‘Julayi is made with Rs.22 crores, SOS’s budget sky-rocketed to Rs.66 crore plus. It’s like paying 10 rupees for a thing which is worthy a rupee.
While speaking about his film with Pawan Kalyan, he feels that he is the most ‘Sanskari’, when asked to speak on Chiru, he initially said,”I don’t want to talk about that family because even if I say Sri Rama, it sounds like obscene word.” Elaborating on the controversy with the megastar family, Dasari reminds that he was the one who announced megastar Chiru stands in 1-10 positions in the industry and the others come only after that.
He tried to reason how NTR, ANR and Rama Naidu asked him what their sons positions were if Chiranjeevi was from 1 to10 ranks. The veteran director says that the differences are all media creation and there is absolutely no bad blood between them.
